I was on a cruise that made a quick stop in Key West. Needed coffee and Gator Joe’s was one of the first places I saw. Stopped in and absolutely loved the café con leche! Had to stop in on my way back to the ship for a second one.

Super cute little coffee shop right by the cruise ships. We stopped here after disembarking in great need of caffeine and maybe a baked good. I got their Irish cream iced coffee which tasted fresh and the flavoring was spot on. I also got the cheese danish which I highly recommend. It was huge, cheesy, and glazed everywhere! What more could you ask for in a danish?

This place is amazing! The owner, is very accommodating and as nice as you can find. She also makes sure to hire people that emulate her style. The coffee is wonderful, regardless of what your preference is. She has all kinds of snacks, baked goods, etc. Get a java treat and grab a bench to look out over the water and Sunset Key. Great spot to enjoy!

Heidi was absolutely wonderful! She so kind, welcoming, and attentive! The pastries were simply divine, and the coffee was out of this world. She made sure we had a delicious and satisfying breakfast before heading off on our Danger Charter snorkeling adventure. Thank you, Heidi, for such a fantastic start to our day! Highly recommend especially over other coffee & cafes in the area! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nestled in the heart of Key West, Gator Joes Coffee offers more than just a quick caffeine fix—it delivers an authentic island coffee experience. Located conveniently at 271 Front Street, this charming café is a haven for both locals and visitors docking from nearby cruise ships. The vibrant atmosphere pairs perfectly with their standout menu items, especially the iced coffee and freshly baked croissants, which embody the relaxed yet flavorful spirit of the Florida Keys.

What strikes you immediately at Gator Joes is the quality and care poured into every cup and pastry. Their iced coffees, including the ever-popular Irish cream iced coffee and the bold Cuban double shot espresso, strike a perfect balance between rich flavor and refreshing chill, ideal for Key West’s tropical climate. The café con leche is a beloved classic here, creamy and robust, as praised by Britany Nauman who found herself returning for a second cup on the same day.

The baked goods are no less impressive. Croissants and cheese danishes come warm, flaky, and indulgently glazed, offering a savory-sweet complement to the strong coffee selections. As Jacqueline Torres notes, the cheese danish is generously sized and heavenly in flavor–a true treat for anyone seeking a hearty breakfast or mid-morning snack. These pastries are crafted with a skill that echoes small-batch bakery craftsmanship, enhancing the overall café experience.

Beyond the menu, what elevates Gator Joes Coffee is the welcoming spirit and attentive service led by the owner, Heidi. Cindy Calhoun’s suggestion to grab a java treat and enjoy the waterfront view of Sunset Key perfectly captures the peaceful, inviting vibe that makes Gator Joes more than just a coffee stop—it’s a Key West ritual.

In summary, Gator Joes Coffee stands as a small but mighty gem in Key West’s café scene.
